It has been another stellar year for the GUKPT which heads into its 14th season in 2020. Eight champions have been crowned, including Matt Eardley who banked £84,550 in Blackpool earlier this month, and now they are all vying for the title of Grand Final champion.

Only once has the Grand Final Main Event not awarded its champion a six-figure prize. That was in 2017 when Ahmed Abdella walked away with £89,000 after defeating 303 opponents. There was a six-figure score awarded in that tournament, Wenbin Chen scooped £129,000 as part of a five-way deal that also involved Jaime O’Connor.
GUKPT Grosvenor UK Poker Tour
Jerome L'Hostis of France is the reigning champion having come out on top of a 325-strong field. The Frenchman struck a deal when three-handed that resulted in hm banking £129,000. Tamer Kamel and Ben Morrison finished in second and third-place for scores of £110,000 and £123,155 respectively.
With £500,000 guaranteed this year there should be yet more massive prizes in the GUKPT Grand Final Main Event.
Several other side events capture the imagination of the GUKPT-loving community. It remains to be seen how many people will turn out for the £10,300 High Roller with it having no guarantee, but London has more than its fair share of high buy-in players who should make the short trip to The Poker Room formerly The Vic to compete in it.
